violence just doesn’t work

Standard

“Although violence and the use of force may appear powerful and decisive, their benefits are short-lived. Violence can never bring a lasting and long term resolution to any problem, because it is unpredictable and for every problem it seems to solve, others are created. On the other hand, truth remains constant and will ultimately prevail.” Dalai Lama

  1. Hey šŸ™‚

I liked the quote, but I was not sure how to interpret the last part. That violence creates problems and is in and of itself a problem, is very true. But how did you interpret the last part (if you did), “On the other hand, truth remains constant and will ultimately prevail.” ? Not sure I understood how truth was related to the violence part in this context. Like truth here was a contradistinction to violence, but not sure how?

    • I guess a lots of time I don’t understand every words to get the meaning of it. This quotation reminds me of something from “the master key system”. Violence is the effect. Fight violence with violence is just like trying to change the effects by working with another effects which make bigger effects. The change the effects you must change the causes.
